William Carlos Williams

William Carlos Williams was a poet closely associated with modernism and imagism. He was known as an experimenter, an innovator, and a revolutionary figure in American poetry. In addition to his writing, Williams had a long career as a physician practicing both pediatrics and general medicine, he practiced medicine by day and wrote at night. His major collections are 'Spring and All' (1923), 'The Desert Music and Other Poems' (1954), 'Pictures from Brueghel and Other Poems' (1962), and 'Paterson' (1963).
